What is CBD?

CBD stands for ‘Cannabidiol’. CBD is a non-intoxicating, non-psychoactive compound derived from industrial hemp. Recently, CBD has gained significant recognition due to its ability to regulate many important systems in the body. Humans possess a biological system called the endocannabinoid system. This system regulates many processes within the body, including sleep, memory, mood, immunity, pain, and inflammation.

CBD has been shown to have a positive impact on many of these systems, with many people achieving positive results by incorporating CBD into their lifestyles. 

Where does CBD come from?

CBD is non-psychoactive, it won’t get you high! CBD comes from industrial hemp. The vast majority of CBD products on the market come in the form of oils and pills. These products are made by taking industrial hemp and extracting the CBD, often with the use of solvents and chemicals. Sky & Wyatt does things differently.

How is Sky & Wyatt different?

Sky & Wyatt teas are made by blending hemp (abundant in CBD and other cannabinoids) with other delicious and beneficial natural herbs. In order to pull the CBD out of the hemp flower, make sure to add a bit of fat when brewing your tea. We like to use coconut oil, but milk or nut milk will work just fine as well! Adding the fat allows you to do your own mini-extraction, right in your mug.

Think of it like this: CBD oils and capsules are like swallowing a vitamin-c supplement—drinking Sky & Wyatt is like eating a juicy orange. Both are viable sources of vitamin-c, eating the orange just requires fewer steps. The same goes for Sky & Wyatt—our teas are the most natural, true-to-it’s-roots source of CBD on the market. 

Is it legal?

Industrial hemp is legal in all 50 states. In 2014, the Federal government signed a bill which defined hemp as distinct from marijuana, allowing for its cultivation and commercialization for a variety of purposes. Legally, industrial hemp must contain less than 0.3% THC (ours does!). 

Is it safe?

CBD is safe for humans. There are no known toxicity levels of CBD or hemp. People with specific health concerns should contact a medical professional. 

How much should I take?

Each serving of Sky & Wyatt tea contains roughly 50mg of CBD, depending on how much hemp makes its way into each tea bag. Everybody responds differently to CBD. While some may realize benefits from as little as 10mg, people with conditions such as anxiety, chronic pain, or insomnia tend to benefit from 50-100mg.
